Bernhard Keppler, head of the institute, was awarded the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry in 1996. In 1998, Herbert Ipser was awarded the second full professorship at the institute for the area of Materials Chemistry.At the end of 2004, the institute was split up into two separate units - the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry with Bernhard Keppler as head of the "Institute of Inorganic Chemistry" and with Herbert Ipser as head of the "Institute of Inorganic Chemistry / Material Chemistry". The research at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry comprises the areas of Bioinorganic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Environmental- and Radiochemistry, Synthetical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Bioanalytics and Cell Biology, primarily the development of new tumor therapeutics. |
